T.Snow/ Candace: Let me enter the discussion again:WOULDN’T IT BR WISE ON OUR PART IF WE STICK WITH GOD’S WORD AND NOT ADD TO IT TOWARDS OUR OWN CONFUSION & PROBABLY SOME PLAGUES FROM DISOBEDIENCE?
T Snow(post#413) you wrote to Candace:
From your posts, the truth that there is only One who is ‘Holy and Righteous’ doesn’t seem to be clear. Further, there is only One Author of Life.
God’s presence on earth was represented through/in Jesus Christ. He [Jesus] was/is the physical manifestation [visible appearance] of God. He possesses all the attributes / characteristics of God…
Comment:There is no debate that JESUS CHRIST IS GOD; and He is one with God as we are one in God- but let us accept that our Father & His Father is greater than our brother & Savior. Here are scriptures to prove that God the Father-another Person is GREATER than our Lord:
John 10:27-33My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.’ Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’ ‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’”
John 13:16″Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater (meizon) than his master, nor is one who is sent greater (meizon) than the one who sent him.”
John 14:28 Jesus said:… I go to the Father, for the Father is greater (meizon) than I.”
Luke 18:19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone…
Donot insist on grasping or making our Lord equal with God our Father. Whether our Father in Heaven is greater only in position to the Son and not in the ESSENCE & NATURE of God, since the Bible tells us that God the Father is Greater than our Lord-let us stick to that! Here is an advice to us from the Bible to follow:
Philippians 2:5-8 “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped…
1 Corinthian 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
You said : Why would a Christian deny that God has revealed Himself in three Persons? (”because the Bible doesn’t teach it,” may be the response). But that’s not what is being asked, rather, what fuels the disbelief? Is it because God is too holy and perfect to become a man? [or something to that effect]…
In denying the Triune God, there has been verses quoted, examples given, and so forth . . . why the need to disprove, see? Honest questions, straight from the soul.
Comment: We have already discussed repeatedly that the Holy Spirit is not a PERSON thus proving that the TRINITY is not an accurate description of God. Could any person accurately confine & discuss or explain God through a MAN MADE DOCTRINE or TERM? And the TRINITY is a MAN MADE DOCTRINE-most probably from PAGANISM-why should you insist that we SWALLOW an unclean doctrine of men? Would that not be adding or subtracting from the Bible on the nature and essence of God?
If you that believes in the TRINITY just quoted BIBLE VERSES on God- would there have been a debate? Would there have been a need to disprove on the part of Candace, Angel & etc?
The Bible tells us not to add or subtract, better to quote scriptures than our words unless it is necessary for us to speak:
Deuteronomy 4:2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may …
Deuteronomy 12:32 See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.
Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
Revelation 22:9 But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”
Revelation22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
WOULDN’T IT BR WISE ON OUR PART IF WE STICK WITH GOD’S WORD AND NOT ADD TO IT TOWARDS OUR OWN CONFUSION & PROBABLY SOME PLAGUES FROM DISOBEDIENCE?
